The brand new 2013 fuelled4life Buyers' Guides are being sent to over 2500 schools and early childhood education (ECE) services this week. There are 650 products on offer from 33 food companies who are committed to providing healthier choices for children. All schools and ECE services that are signed up with fuelled4life will  receive the guide. Signing up is easy online at the bottom of this page and its FREE.

How does fuelled4life work?

Fuelled4life classifies foods and drinks according to the nutrients (fat, sugar, salt) they contain and whether they are recommended for provision in schools or ECE services.

Foods and drinks are classified as everyday or sometimes. Everyday foods and drinks are lower in energy, saturated fat and salt than the other category so are appropriate for everyday consumption. Sometimes foods and drinks are still good choices but are a bit higher in energy, saturated fat and salt and so should be eaten in moderation.

Food companies register products with fuelled4life that meet the everyday or sometimes nutrient criteria. We produce a Buyer’s guide and also list the products on this site.

You can be the start of making a difference! If you are a teacher, principal, catering manager, cook or would like to see some changes in the food and beverages available at a school or ECE service; here is what to do:

• Sign up to fuelled4life and you’ll receive the free printed Buyers’ Guide every year to help you choose healthier options.
• You’ll also get access to our fuelled4life website and newsletter with tips, recipes, special deals and information on ways to improve nutrition in your school or ECE service.
