Wairoa Playcentre has a Hearty Visitor
13 January 2016
Wairoa Playcentre’s children received a special visitor last week when the Heart Foundation’s mascot, Hearty, popped in.
Hearty and friends from the Heart Foundation presented the centre with a six slice industrial sandwich press valued at $1,600 after the centre won the fuelled4life prize draw. Wairoa Playcentre won the prize draw after recently registering with fuelled4life, along with hundreds of early childhood education centres and schools throughout the country.
On his visit, Hearty was accompanied by the Heart Foundation’s Hawkes Bay Health Promotion Coordinator Rochelle Clark. They joined the playcentre families for a healthy morning tea.
It was great to see this prize go to Wairoa. The playcentre provides morning tea for its children, so they now have an appliance that will help them to continue this, and provide something warm for the children to eat through the winter months. We are sure the children will be enjoying lots of healthy grilled sandwiches from now on.
The Heart Foundation thanks nationwide catering service Choice Catering Equipment Ltd for providing the six sandwich industrial press for the prize draw.
