Breakfast Toasted Sandwiches
A twist on the traditional French toast that meets our sometimes criteria.
Method
1.Beat the eggs and milk together in a flat dish, and season.
2.Place 6 slices of toast bread on a board. Spoon Wattie’s Baked Beans* or Wattie’s Spaghetti* into the middle of the bread (make sure you don't over fill or the filling will spill out during cooking). Top with the remaining bread slices to make sandwiches.
3.In a non-stick frying pan melt a knob of butter with a dash of oil over a medium heat.
4.Dip one sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated, then place in a pan and cook over a moderate heat for about 2 minutes. Turn and cook the other side until hot and golden. Repeat with remaining sandwiches. Serve hot.
Tip
Add a little extra to your sandwiches – finely chopped onion, grated cheese or drained crushed pineapple.
